Buying a car, adding a driver or reviewing a renewal? We compare available personal auto options using your vehicles, drivers, use and coverage needs. The goal is to understand both the cost and the protection before you choose.
Liability Coverage
Florida requires $10,000 in Property Damage Liability on every registered vehicle, covering damage you cause to someone else's car or property.
SR-22 Filing
An SR-22 is a certificate your insurer files with the Florida DHSMV confirming you carry the required coverage, usually after a DUI, a suspension or driving uninsured.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
PIP covers 80% of your medical bills and 60% of lost wages up to your $10,000 limit, regardless of who caused the crash.
Rideshare & Delivery Coverage
Driving for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash or Instacart leaves a gap between your personal policy and the app's coverage — the stretch when the app is on and you are still waiting for a ride.
High-Risk & Non-Owner Policies
Tickets, at-fault accidents, a lapse in coverage or a suspension put you in the high-risk market, where several of our carriers specialize.
Compare the total policy cost, initial payment and installment terms.Review liability limits, collision, comprehensive and available deductibles. Discuss non-owner coverage, driving-history questions and any state filing notice
Commercial auto covers the vehicles your business runs on, from a single work truck to a full fleet. We write policies for contractors, delivery operations, landscapers and mobile service businesses across Miami-Dade and Broward.
Hired and Non-Owned Auto
Hired and non-owned auto covers the vehicles your business uses without owning them — a rented truck for a job, or an employee running errands in their own car.
Fleet Insurance
One policy for every vehicle your business operates.
Certificates of Insurance (COI)
A certificate of insurance is the proof a client or a job site asks for before you start work, and we issue yours the same day you request it.
Contractor Commercial Auto
Trucks and vans used by Miami trades carry risks personal policies exclude
We place general liability, professional liability and business owner's policies for small businesses across Miami, and we walk through each coverage in plain English or Spanish before you sign
General Liability Insurance
Can address certain third-party bodily injury, property damage and related claims, subject to policy terms and exclusions
Business Owner's Policy (BOP)
Can address certain claims arising from professional services, advice or alleged errors. The right form depends on your work.
Professional Liability (E&O)
May package general liability and commercial property coverage for eligible small businesses. Eligibility and optional protections vary.
Workers' Compensation
Requirements in Florida depend on industry, employee count and exemptions. We can discuss the business details and available coverage.
We write Marketplace (ACA) plans, private health plans and dental coverage for individuals, families and self-employed residents across Miami
ACA / Marketplace Plans
Review eligible Marketplace plans, provider networks and possible financial assistance based on your application and enrollment status.
Private Health Plans
Ask how an off-Marketplace plan differs in benefits, exclusions, costs and enrollment rules. Marketplace subsidies are not available for plans bought outside the Marketplace.
Dental Plans
Compare standalone or available companion dental options, including provider networks, waiting periods, annual limits and covered services.
We can review individual and family plan choices for freelancers and business owners; being self-employed does not automatically require a separate kind of plan.
Self-Employed Health Insurance
Review homeowners coverage for your dwelling, belongings and personal liability, including deductibles and hurricane terms that matter in Florida. Flood is usually a separate coverage decision; we can discuss available options for your property.
Flood Insurance
Standard homeowners policies generally do not cover flood. Ask whether separate flood coverage is available and appropriate for your home.
Dwelling & Hurricane Coverage
Review what the association’s master policy covers and what your unit may still need for interior finishes, belongings, liability and loss assessment.
Citizens Property Insurance
If Citizens is available for your property, compare its eligibility, terms and deductibles with other options your office can access.
Condo Insurance (HO-6)
Compare dwelling limits, replacement-cost terms, wind or hurricane deductibles and exclusions before you choose.
Your landlord’s policy generally covers the building, not the belongings you bring into it. A renters policy can help with covered losses to your personal property, liability and eligible temporary living expenses. Compare limits, deductibles and exclusions before signing.

Renters Liability Insurance
Standard renters coverage generally does not include flood damage to belongings. Ask about an available endorsement or separate contents flood policy.
Loss of Use Coverage

Personal Property Coverage
OTHER COVERAGE WE WRITE
Beyond the core lines, we write the policies that round out a household or a hobby. Each one takes the same multi-carrier comparison.
Motorcycles carry their own policy form and their own rules in Florida, and we quote liability, collision and comprehensive plus coverage for custom parts.
Life insurance replaces the income your family counts on, and our licensed life agent quotes term for a fixed period and whole life for permanent protection.
Umbrella insurance adds a layer of liability above the limits on your home and auto policies, usually starting at $1 million.
Pet insurance reimburses a share of your veterinary bills, so the treatment decision stays a medical one
RV & Boat Insurance
RVs and boats each need their own policy, and we write motorhomes, travel trailers and boats kept at a marina, on a trailer or moored on Biscayne Bay.

What do Independent Insurance Brokers like Us do for You?
Two Ways to Compare Insurance Options
With Del Toro Insurance:
Multiple carriers compared
Unbiased, carrier-neutral advice
One quick call
An independent insurance broker works for you rather than for one insurance company, which means we hold appointments with the carriers writing auto, home, health, business and commercial coverage across Florida and we place your policy with whichever one prices your profile best — the same agent handling the quote, the renewal and the claim.
Going Direct to One Insurer:
One company, one price

Insurance Questions Miami Drivers Ask Us
How much does car insurance cost in Miami?
There is no single Miami price, and any agent quoting you one before seeing your profile is guessing. Rates shift by ZIP code within Miami-Dade, by driving record, by vehicle, by how long you have held continuous coverage, and by the limits you pick. Two neighbors on the same block routinely pay very different premiums for the same car.
Which Del Toro Insurance office is this?
This is the Del Toro Insurance office at 1412 West Flagler Street, in Little Havana. Del Toro Insurance runs offices across Florida, each with its own licensed team, its own phone line and its own clients. Ours is the Flagler Street location, and you reach us at (305) 509-8613.
What coverage do I need to drive legally in Florida?
Florida requires $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability on every registered vehicle. Florida is a no-fault state, so your PIP pays your medical costs first, whoever caused the crash. Bodily Injury Liability stays optional for most drivers, and we recommend carrying it anyway — the state minimum covers far less than a serious accident costs.
What does an independent broker do that calling one insurance company skips?
One insurer rates you against its own book and offers a single price. We hold appointments with a massive network of carriers, running your profile through all of them to extract the policies that truly fit. Because every carrier weighs tickets, continuous coverage, and your ZIP code differently, we leverage that spread to maximize your savings
How soon can I get proof of insurance?
Same day, in most cases within the hour during office hours. We email your ID cards and send a certificate directly to your lender, landlord or job site when one is needed. Bring your driver's license, vehicle information and current declarations page if you have one.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes — every agent in the office is fully bilingual, and we handle quotes, policy questions, claims and renewals in Spanish or English. Portuguese is available too: ask for Hugo Díaz. Our Spanish-language site lives at segurosdeltoro.com.
